THE URANTIA BOOK
I read and reference many books, yet The Urantia Book is basically
the only book in which I consider every word as truth. I believe it an update, a New Age
Christianity, rather than a
sacrilege to Christianity. However, The Urantia Book does not receive the
typical New Age nod since it explicitly denies reincarnation.
NEW AGE
CHRISTIANITY:
The beauty of The Urantia Book is that it presents a more "humane" and "logical" explanation of everything.
The concept of Hell is gone. If you do not believe in God at death then you will merely cease to exist. If you believe in God and seek to know and become like God, you can look forward to a spiritual journey to Paradise.
Jesus Christ, known throughout the universe as Michael, is our creator. Although he performed most of the miracles attributed to him including the resurrection, his was no virgin birth.
We can attain the spiritual level that Christ achieved here on Earth, except for his resurrection.
We are not born into sin. Thanks to some fallen angels, our world is merely a rougher place than most.
The book integrates science and spirituality well. It claims the universe is over a trillion years old, although scientists are generally correct as to the age of the Earth and solar system. There was no big bang. While the physical universe started at Paradise and greatly increased in size, it was divinely directed order, not an explosion that would have destroyed Paradise.
According to the book The Secret Revelation, based on Urantia Book concepts, St. John's Revelation concerns his impressions of the afterlife and our spiritual government, not an Armageddon event. This corrects a problem comprehending some special religious texts; revelations of the afterlife are treated as end of the world scenarios.
There is no sin in sexuality.
Billions of inhabited worlds exist, though The Urantia Book is restricted in discussing other races, which are generally humanoid and apparently share similar DNA structure.

I am putting together a list of books that reference The Urantia Book. This database helps show how far the concepts from the book have disseminated throughout society.
