QUANTUM COMPUTERS / QUANTUM MIND:
The Fabric of Reality: The Science of Parallel Universes-And Its Implications by David Deutsch A very good book. Parallel universes is only one of many interesting concept Deutsch discusses. The main theme of the book is bringing together quantum physics, evolution, computation, and knowledge. His integrating virtual reality generators into these four main threads is key. He comes from a physics perspective, so my biggest issue with him is that he leaves out consciousness. His main blunder is not thinking that the brain is a quantum computer. I was a bit disapointed that a man with his knownledge of quantum computers would have discussed quantum computers more. He more than makes up for it by the time he brings in Tipler's Omega Point about the "big crunch" VR information theory.

The Feynman Processor: Quantum Entanglement and the Computing Revolution by Gerald J. Milburn A very good book explaining quantum computers. Milburn starts with the basic physics and works his way up through the logic gates necessary for quantum computers. The title is from the great physicist Richard Feynman who first came up with the idea of quantum computers.

Orchestrated Objective Reduction of Quantum Coherence in Brain Microtubules: The "Orch OR" Model for Consciousness by Stuart Hameroff and Roger Penrose They do well except they focus on quantum effects in microtubules instead of an molecular apperatus much more stable (such as DNA) which would seem to be necessary for the unity of consciousness we experience.

Shadows of the Mind: A Search for the Missing Science of Consciousness by Roger Penrose The most rigorous argument yet presented claiming quantum is required for consciousness.

TOLTEC SORCERY:
The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge by Carlos Castaneda Although many people discount him, I agree with a New York Times review quote, "One can't exaggerate the significance of what Castaneda has done." I consider his lucid, complete written records of his apprenticeship into the world of "non-ordinary reality" exquisite and informative. I have had various personal sources corroborate of many of the people and facts discussed in his books.

Shaman, Healer, Sage: How to Heal Yourself and Others with the Energy Medicine of the Americas by Alberto Villoldo Not only does his knowledge from Inkan shamans, descendents of the builders of Machu Pichu, include explanations of the luminous energy body that matches the Toltecs' concepts, his knowledge parallels the concepts of the Hindus' chakras and the Chinese life-energy ch'i. That these and other concepts are so similar and fairly universal among sophisticated ancient healing systems should give patients of Western medicine reason to pause.

The Self-Aware Universe: How Consciousness Creates the Material World by Amit Goswami Writing for the layperson, physicist and mystic Amit Goswami shatters the widely held worldview that matter is the primary `stuff' of creation and proposes instead that consciousness is the true foundation of all we know and perceive. Consciousness creates material reality. Adopting this idea in place of traditional assumptions about matter and how the world works, says Goswami, would resolve the difficulties quantum physicists seem to have in explaining satisfactorily the paradoxes they observe (things like the dual wave-particle aspect of light, and so on). Goswami also theorizes that the structure of our own minds into conscious and unconscious levels is not an accident; it arises from the quantum-mechanical nature of our minds, from our being part of the fabric of a self-aware universe.

Divine Action and Modern Science by Nick Saunders

Lamarckian evolutionary theory claims that the DNA we pass on to our offspring has been altered by our living. Inheritted disease resistance is the best proof of this.
